I really have low tolerance to pain. Last Friday, I had my first oral surgery. I had my lower right wisdom tooth removed by a dentist in Dasma. As I expected I had a number of lidocaine injections before he was able to pull the two fragments. The tooth had to be cut vertically into two to facilitate pulling because one root is slightly curved. I'm a chronic complainer so, I just did that!

Healing was faster than my previous extraction but this time my tonsils didn't cooperate! The tonsilitis followed starting Sunday so I have to gargle using two solutions. One was hexetidine, the other was a warm supersaturated salt solution. Hexetidine was good but salt is much much better in decreasing the size of my tonsils. Cheaper too!

Speaking of solutions, I once blogged about the use of vinegar for broiler with gizzard erosion. Last week, I heared of another "outlandish" solution (from Dr. Darwin) which is a modified version of the vinegar thing. His recipe uses gentian violet that is mixed with vinegar. A stock solution is prepared first by adding 5 tablespoons of gentian violet and mixing it to a liter of vinegar. One litter of this stock is added to four litters of water and is given orally to broiler for 3 to 5 days. I will try this this week and I'll give an update.

Tomorrow, I'll be in Calatagan and Tuy, Batangas. Friday in Quezon City to attend a seminar on broiler. I will attend Asian Pig Veterinary Society 2005 on September 19. I will also attend the Philippine College of Poultry Practitioners Poultry School sometime in October. Magkita tayo.
