I'm using Statcounter in this blog, since 2005. It's one of those sites that provide important stats for a site. An example of which is Popular Pages.
In this blog, the most popular post is Glycolysis Mnemonics. I posted this on November 22, 2007. The mnemonic is not originally mine, I just stumbled on it while I'm taking a subject in Biochemistry in graduate school.
Among my chemistry subjects, biochemistry is one of my favorites. It's actually the third chem subject that UPLB Vet students have to take. The first one is Inorganic Chem (Chem 15) while the second is Organic Chem, Chem 40 (which I didn't like and also known as Chem 80 or Chem 120 for some).
I remember during Prevet in UPLB, that I was not able to attend Biochem classes for more than two weeks because I was hospitalized (in UPLB Infirmary!!!) due to an infection. I had to bring that thick, black Biochemistry book in the hospital so I can read the scheduled lessons. I was not able to take the first exam, so I had to take the final exam to makeup for that missed exam.
Exerting more effort for this subject paid off because Biochem is one of the core subjects of medicine. Biochem resurfaced in Physiology 1, 2 (under Dr. Elito Landicho) and 3 (Dr. Rhea Anunciado) and also in the Medicine subjects.
Biochem questions, surprisingly, were also included in the 2003 Veterinary Licensure Examination. Thankfully, I didn't forget my Biochem basics!

I'm Alive!
No blog post for nearly a month!
I've been so busy at work lately because I, bilibitornat, am doing the job of two persons. Right now, I'm alternating on food and animal production that I didn't have time to get my transcripts from school which I would use for CPE requirement of PVMA. I heard they're being serious about it now. It would be worth more than 30 units. I don't know if thesis work has separate points.
Meanwhile, I have updated this site, www.vkvvlv.org, and moved from the old CMS (Content Management Sys) Joomla to Wordpress. It's now integrated with Twitter (@vkvvlv) and the network site, vkvvlvorg.ning.com. I finished migration in under two days.
There's a fast way to do this, using scripts, but since I'm not good at it, I had to move the site manually, post-by-post. Sorry to the users of the site that were deleted. They need to re-register.
I am now into twitter and facebook, there's a button on the right to follow me. I share sites and short messages there. I have also found a way to send twits (www.isip.ph) from my mobile phone which automatically sends a copy of the twit to my facebook status. Nice? It's just PISO or several cents if in UNLI per text but I have not checked its security.
I would also want to share here \0/ a good software for SMS. It's Frontline SMS. It works with the dongle of Smartbro (Huawei brand). The dongle could be used as a device to send SMS, if a regular SIM is used. If you want you may purchase a SIM with special number (0919-XXX-3333), which I did. The software can be used to broadcast messages and can also be used as SMS Hotline (Example: Text HELP to 0919-XXX-3333 and the system will automatically reply to that query!). I just don't know if Ken Banks would allow it to be used in a Vet Clinic. :)

Harry Potter
I just finished the last chapter of the 7th book today. I was alternating between an ebook and an audiobook. And it was my first time doing this kind of reading/listening.
Compared with the conventional way of reading (a book), this combo is faster and more "reader" friendly. Imagine reading a book while driving!? Wouldn't it be disastrous?
Anyway, it's not the end of my HP reading list. I'll read the rest of the related books later.
Now, these questions:
Would you rather have an iPhone or an owl?
A pensieve or a blog?
The marauder's map or Google Maps?
The article's here.

Customer Complaint Takes New Form
In most companies complaints are taken seriously because "the customer is always right". In our recent customer service training, the speaker stressed the importance of listening to the customers since customers who don't talk back just leave. Also, most of those who give feedback actually care for the company.
The following is a youtube video from an irate customer of an airline in US.
Imagine the effect of this video to that company, because of a broken guitar. It has now been viewed over 3M times.
Among local businesses, there is a restaurant that offers instant "bribe" to customers, like complimentary salad, for slight errors.

Goodbye Laptop
I lost my first laptop last week. It overheated in my bag (!) which burned its motherboard. Leonid offered to have it repaired but since the model has been phased out, no replacement motherboard can be bought from its local supplier. So I decided to make use of the parts. The DVD writer goes to Leonid. The hard disk I'll use as a portable drive.
The memory card was missing and was probably taken by the technician in Robinson's DasmariƱas!
I still have to think about what to do with the rest. Any suggestions?

My Posts Are Not Moving
My posts are not moving because I have not been posting blogs lately.
The Flu has arrived in the Philippines. So, ingat!
Let's eat more fruit, take vitamins, exercise and if possible avoid crowds.
Meanwhile, enjoy this:
