Palawan

As I have already mentioned, I went to Palawan again this December and this time I was able to go to St. Paul Subterranean Park in Sabang, Puerto Princesa. Going there alone is difficult. It is three to four hours away from the city proper if you'll take public transport. Only about half of the road going there is concrete, in the next half you'll get a full body massage because the road is very rough. Interesting points along the way are: the gentle sea of Ulugan Bay and a limestone mountain which is already a part of the park. Pregnant women shouldn't go there by jeepney or bus, instead, join a tour group, which costs 1300-1500 pesos per person to avoid miscarriage. They use better vehicles to go there.

This is in the beach of Sabang. Sabang is a small barangay that is on the western side of Palawan. Waves here are BIG as it directly faces the South China Sea. Another interesting place in the west of Palawan is Port Barton in San Vicente. Several small islands are accessible from there and they're great for snorkeling.

This is a boat that is used to navigate the river. It is a river but it's under a mountain so nothing but stalactites, stalagmites, bats, and swiftlets can be seen.

This is one of the monitor lizards that can be seen milling around the rest area near the entrance to the river. They are supposed to be wild, but due to the daily presence of tourists in the area they have been tamed.

The others.

This lizard suffered from a burn because it tried to steal a Thermos with hot water in it. The result is that big wound in its back and thigh.
