Space



Obviously, it's not the right way of transporting pigs, but, with rising transportation cost I can't blame them.

Pigs transported this way, on daytime, will be severely stressed. The result is PSE (pale, soft, exudative) pork which the consumer would not want. The retailer would also be at a loss because of excessive drip loss.

In this photo, you will also see that the skin of the nearest pig has markings. This is a cheap but very cruel way of putting an identification. A knife is used to carve those markings.
