Kidnappings in Cavite: Rural Legend

This has been going on for weeks now and is the buzz here that most of the children I encounter are now afraid to go out of their homes. The rumor that circulates via SMS is that several bodies of children were found, with their internal organs harvested supposedly to be sold for transplantation. And that in some bodies cash is found in their abdominal cavity (supposedly as payment?).

This is very similar to the mananabas rumor that spread like Erap joke in the UPLB community when I was still a student. Even college students at that time were threatened by the tsismis that most stayed in their dorms at night.

Police refute kidnapping, selling of kids' organs

Take note that organ transplantation is not that easy. You cannot just steal someone's liver and place it in your body. It's a very complicated operation that requires compatibility tests prior to actual surgery. So it's a very incredible story. Please focus your energy on something more productive rather than circulate this bad rumor.
